The Power of Parks and Recreation

Each July, we join park and recreation agencies across the country in celebrating Park and Recreation Month and recognizing the dedicated professionals, seasonal staff, volunteers, and community partners who help make our parks, programs, and events possible. This year's theme, The Power of Parks and Recreation, highlights the many ways parks enrich our lives and strengthen our community.

At Carmichael Recreation and Park District, the power of parks can be seen every day. It is found in the laughter on playgrounds, the connections made through youth sports and recreation programs, the enjoyment of community events, and the opportunities for people of all ages to be active, explore nature, and spend time together. Parks and recreation bring people together, support health and well-being, and create a stronger sense of belonging for everyone.

We invite you to celebrate Park and Recreation Month by visiting a local park, participating in a program, attending a community event, or simply spending time outdoors. Thank you for being part of what makes our parks and recreation system such a valuable part of the Carmichael community.
