Pool Feasibility Study

The Carmichael Recreation and Park District has received a donation to fund the hiring of a professional consultant firm, Counsilman-Hunsaker, to conduct a comprehensive feasibility study exploring the potential addition of a pool within the district’s park system.
Carmichael Park was once home to a community pool. In 2003, due to its age and the cost to repair and bring the facility up to current safety and accessibility standards, the pool was closed and was later removed. This new study represents an opportunity to thoughtfully evaluate whether a modern aquatics facility could be viable today.
The feasibility study will assess potential locations within the park system, gather community input to better understand recreational needs and priorities, and analyze construction costs, operational requirements, and long-term financial sustainability. The study will also explore potential partnerships and funding strategies to determine whether a pool could be supported responsibly within the district’s budget.
This process is focused on providing objective, data-driven insight to guide future decision-making and ensure responsible stewardship of community resources.
