KHO After School Program (Grades 1st-8th)

The Kid’s Hang Out After School Program is operated by qualified staff and held at the La Sierra Community Center, Monday through Friday throughout the school year. Children are in a safe environment where they can do homework, have a nutritious snack, be active, explore their creativity, and socialize with others.

Transportation is provided from your child’s school to the La Sierra Community Center.

The program is offered to Barrett Middle, Churchill Middle, Deterding Elementary, and California Montessori Project (CMP) - Carmichael Campus.  For all other school inquiries, please email the Recreation Coordinator or call (916) 562-4783.

Program Dates: August 10, 2026 - June 11, 2027

Program Hours: Monday to Friday, 2:00pm – 6:00pm

Our Program Hours also include all early release days for both SJUSD and CMP:

  • Wednesdays, 1:00pm – 6:00pm (CMP Early Release)
  • Thursdays, 1:00pm – 6:00pm (SJUSD Early Release)
  • Minimum Days
  • Parent-Teacher Conferences

Program vans will pick up program participants at school dismissal times

    Please Note: 

  • Vans will arrive to pick up from elementary schools up to minutes after the final bell
  • Vans will arrive to pick up from middle schools between 15 and 20 minutes after the final bell
  • CMP Carmichael students will be walked over from the dismissal area to the program

Fees: Part Time: Attends 1-3 Days/Week
             $95 (R) $100 (NR)

             Full Time: Attends 4-5 Days/Week
             $115 (R) $120 (NR)

If your child attends CMP Carmichael or does not need van transportation to our program, you qualify for a $10/week discount
