A quintessential dance band, the John Skinner ensemble is a part of Carmichael history. Skinner music’s been in our parks for concerts, July 4 celebrations and fundraisers since the 1970s; several Carmichael generations have danced to the band.  Tunes moved with the times and added classic rock to swing hits. The Skinner group always prided itself on including all age groups in its lineup.

May contain: person, human, trumpet, brass section, cornet, horn, and musical instrument

Trumpeter and community booster John Skinner played his final solo in the park in 2017. The band continued on in his name but July 16 will be the farewell performance of this popular group. Lead vocalist Susan Skinner and John’s guys expect to boost the audience with hundreds of musicians who have played with the Skinner Band throughout the years. John’s daughter Kathryn will also sing. This will be a historical performance and a chance to salute a giant in our community.  Be there for a blowout the community will never forget!

Please Note: Concert schedule and food trucks are subject to change.
