Parks

Following is a list of District Park Sites.  Click on the name of the park for a location map.

Bird Track Park

One acre developed mini-park.  Amenities include picnic tables, playground and horseshoe pits.

Capra Park Site

A 6.7 acre undeveloped neighborhood park site that currently has fenced horse corrals, stables and a residential unit.

Cardinal Oaks Park

7.4 acre developed neighborhood park.  Amenities include ballfield, picnic tables, playground, and portable restroom (seasonal).

Carmichael Park

Serving the entire community of Carmichael, Carmichael Park is a 38 acre developed community park containing the District office building. 

Amenities & Features:

  • Great Wall of Carmichael: donated to the park by the County, this wall is an artistic rendering of all the things that make our community great!
  • Canine Corral:  an off leash dog park with a small dog and large dog area, the dog park is supported by volunteers of the Carmichael Dog Park Society
  • Community Clubhouse & Veteran's Memorial Building:  Available for reservation, these facilities hold community meetings, wedding receptions, workshops and special events, as well as providing diverse locations for our recreation programs.
  • Daniel Bishop Memorial Pavilion for the Performing Arts:  built with funds donated by the Bishop family, the Memorial Pavilion hosts our Summer Sunday concert series and Open Mic Nights.  Great for performances and graduations; available for reservation.
  • Raymond & Hazel Nay Memorial Picnic Shelter:  great for company picnics and barbecues up to 300 people.  Electricity and water available.  Available for reservation.
  • Five ball fields, barbecues, basketball court, picnic tables, three playgrounds, restrooms, soccer field, six tennis courts, volleyball, and horseshoe pits.
  • Permanent restroom building including ADA compliant restrooms for easy access.

Del Campo Park

12 acre developed/9.6 acre undeveloped community park. Amenities include barbecues, playground, restrooms, soccer field, and nature area.

Glancy Oaks Park

3 acre developed neighborhood park.  Amenities include basketball court and playground.

Jan Drive

13.6 acre undeveloped neighborhood park.  Plans for development are part of the Master Plan process currently underway. 

Charles C. Jensen Botanical Garden

3 acre developed community botanical garden.  Available for limited events and small groups.  Volunteer work days on Saturdays once a month with the Friends of Jensen Garden. More information.

O'Donnell Heritage Park

9.4 acre undeveloped neighborhood park.  Plans for development are part of the Master Plan process currently underway.

Patriots Park - Palm Ave

3 acre neighborhood park in development!  Scheduled for completion in Fall 2008.  Click here to view park plans!

Schweitzer Grove Nature Area

17.2 acre nature area. Amenities include: disc golf course, walking trails, and one portable restroom off Milroy Lane.  There are five walk-in entrances: Milroy Lane, Castleglen Way, Donneybrook Way, Hussey Drive and Sumter Drive.

Sutter Avenue Site
